  7. <h1>Fellowship vote for GA seats – Call for nominations</h1>
  8. <p newsteaser="yes">The election for the first Fellowship seat in FSFE's
  9. General Assembly will finish on 1 June in time for the next general
  10. assembly, which is scheduled for 19-21 June in Miraflores de la Sierra,
  11. Spain.</p>
  12. <p>Now is the time to prepare for elections, which will provide the
  13. Fellowship with a direct representation in FSFE's strategic decision
  14. making body.</p>
  15. <p>As you might have read there are two seats. The elections this year are
  16. for the first seat, while the second seat will come up next year. Those
  17. elected will serve a two year term and there will thus be one election
  18. per year from now on.</p>
  19. <p>The Fellowship representative will be serving as an full member of the
  20. General Assembly with all rights and obligations of other members. To get an
  21. idea of the people the new elected representative will be working with, you can
  22. take a look at <a href="/about/team.html">the
  23. members page</a>.</p>

  25. <dt>Who can vote?</dt>
  26. <dd>All registered Fellows can vote.</dd>
  27. <dt>Who can be elected?</dt>
  28. <dd>To be a candidate, you need to have been an active Fellow for at least a
  29. year before the election to make sure that the people elected into the GA are
  30. familiar with the organisation and its work.</dd>
  31. <dt>Election Platform</dt>
  32. <dd>All candidates should use the <a
  33. href="">wiki</a> and/or <a
  34. href="">blog</a> as a promotion platform, so that
  35. it will be possible for their Fellow voters to know them. (Fellows can also
  36. choose to make the wiki page only visible for other Fellows).</dd>
  37. <dt>Voting System</dt>
  38. <dd>For the voting process we will use the Schulze
  39. method, a popular voting system used by Debian, Wikimedia and others. It's a
  40. well tested method and has proven to be resistant to voting anomalies.</dd>

  42. <p>To become a candidate, please send an e-mail, <strong>no later than 31
  43. March</strong>, to <a
  44. href=""></a> with the
  45. subject line <em>"Candidate Fellowship seat"</em>. In the email you should
  46. state that you want to run for election to the GA along with information about
  47. yourself, which we can use to compile the list of candidates for all
  48. Fellows.</p>
  49. <p>You can only register yourself as a candidate. If you know other Fellows
  50. that you consider would be good candidates, please motivate them to
  51. register.</p>
