  7. <h1>FSFE asks to show your love for Free Software!</h1>
  8. <p newsteaser="yes">On February 14th Free Software Foundation Europe asks all
  9. Free Software users to show their appreciation for Free Software. FSFE suggests
  10. to take this day as an opportunity to say "thank you" to one of the dedicated
  11. hard-working people in the Free Software community.</p>
  12. <blockquote>
  13. <p>"Every day, we use Free Software and often take it for granted. We write bug
  14. reports, tell others how they should improve their software, or ask them for
  15. new features - and often we are not shy about criticising. So, to let the
  16. people in Free Software receive a positive feedback at least once a year, there
  17. is the 'I love Free Software day'." says Matthias Kirschner, who initiated the
  18. FSFE's <a href="http://ilovefs.org">#ilovefs campaign</a>.</p>
  19. </blockquote>
  20. <p>For the <a href="http://ilovefs.org">"I love Free Software Day" </a> the
  21. FSFE has several suggestions how to show your love to the people behind Free
  22. Software, including:</p>
  23. <ul>
  24. <li>write an e-mail/letter, (micro-)blog post, to contributors expressing
  25. how much you like what they are doing</li>
  26. <li>buy your favourite contributor a drink. Or buy someone else a drink and while
  27. enjoying it, tell her/him about your favourite Free Software application!</li>
  28. <li>give a contributor a hug (ask for permission first)</li>
  29. <li>take a picture of yourself showing your feelings for Free Software, and post
  30. them online.</li>
  31. <li><a href="/donate/donate.html">Donate to FSFE</a> or <a
  32. href="http://wiki.fsfe.org/DonateToFreeSoftwareProjects">another Free
  33. Software initiative</a> to express your gratitude. They depend on your
  34. contribution to continue their work. So check out your favourite organisation
  35. and make a donation. You can be sure they will love you back.</li>
  36. <li>Finally you can help spread the love by sharing the <a
  37. href="/campaigns/ilovefs/2013/banners.html">campaign banners</a>, by
  38. e-mail, (micro)blog or by spreading through any social network (please use
  39. the hashtag #ilovefs for this).</li>
  40. </ul>
  41. <blockquote>
  42. <p>"We want you to help us, to make this day the day where everybody says
  43. <strong>'thank you'</strong> to the people behind Free Software", adds Matthias
  44. Kirschner.</p>
