  8. <h1>On Valentine's Day, show your love for Free Software!</h1>
  9. <p>
  10. This year on Valentine's Day, FSFE calls on Free Software users
  11. everywhere to show their love for Free Software. Behind every Free
  12. Software initiative and organisation there are real, hard-working
  13. people.
  14. </p>
  15. <p>
  16. Free Software is everywhere. Its presence on desktop computers,
  17. servers, routers, mobile phones, television sets and in other
  18. electronics means that most of us use Free Software every day.
  19. </p>
  20. <p>
  21. This is why for Valentine's Day, FSFE invites everyone to show
  22. their appreciation of the people who produce, distribute and
  23. promote Free Software.
  24. </p>
  25. <p>
  26. “This year why not take the opportunity to show you care about the
  27. people who show you their love all year round?”, suggests Karsten
  28. Gerloff, FSFE's President. “Free Software is about making
  29. technology fit people's needs. It's people who are at the centre
  30. of it all, not computers.”
  31. </p>
  32. <p>
  33. On <a href="/activities/ilovefs/2010/">its
  34. campaign page</a>, FSFE suggests what users can do to show that
  35. they appreciate Free Software. Simply sending a developer a mail to
  36. say “Thank you”, buying them a book or just giving them a hug – with
  37. their permission, naturally. Donating to a Free Software
  38. organisation is also among the options.
  39. </p>
  40. <p>
  41. Everyone is invited to post pictures online of them showing their
  42. love for Free Software. On <a
  43. href="http://identi.ca/">Identi.ca</a> and Twitter, FSFE is using
  44. the hash tag <strong>#ilovefs</strong> to collect pictures and build
  45. a collage.
  46. </p>
  47. <p>
  48. You can see what people have posted so far: <a
