  10. German Election: Ask your candidate about Free Software!
  11. </h1>
  12. <p newsteaser="yes">
  13. With the German federal elections coming up on September 27 2009, FSFE calls on all
  14. friends of freedom to ask the parties' candidates about their positions on Free
  15. Software and Open Standards. We have set up a page about the German
  16. <a href="http://wiki.fsfe.org/Bundestagswahl2009">Bundestagswahl</a> to help
  17. you ask questions, and to collect the answers.
  18. </p>
  19. <p>
  20. In this way, you will help to push Free Software to the fore as a
  21. topic in this election campaign. Your candidates' answers will
  22. contribute to an overview of their positions. What do they know
  23. about Free Software and Open Standards? How do they plan to use
  24. Free Software to strengthen competition in the German IT market?
  25. What are their ideas for the use of Free Software in education?
  26. These are just some of the questions that we need answers to.
  27. </p>
  28. <p>
  29. We will collect your candidates' answers on the wiki page,
  30. and support them with an overview of the parties'
  31. programmes where they concern Free Software. Together we
  32. can help voters to make an informed decision about the
  33. next four years on September 27.
