15.
Because of the German federal elections in 2009, FSFE called on all
16. German Free Software supporters to ask the parties' candidates about
17. their positions on Free Software and Open Standards. FSFE set up a <a
18. href="">page about the German
19. Bundestagswahl to help asking questions, and to collecting
20. answers.

22.
During the campaign politicians from many parties have recognised the
23. potential of Free Software and
24. Open Standards for Germany. In response
25. to questions from supporters of FSFE, they explained that Free Software
26. equals more competition, promotes innovation and provides cost savings.

27.
FSFE collected <a
28. href="">the
29. candidates' answers and wrote <a
30. href="">an
31. overview of the parties' programmes where they concern Free
32. Software (in German). Our Fellows,
33. volunteers and the German team asked 35
34. questions and got 26 replies.
