As written in my comment, my idea for these lines, on this example:
@max.mehl I think you assumption is right but the referrenced page has a different purpose of the Footnote. In your referrence the Footnote is additional information and in this page the context of the footnote is the URL.
So I think a back referrence on the same file would be more appropriate? Maybe you suggested it but your code example does not fullfill it.
I'll play with my local build today and try different options.
