News articles may contain graphics from the picturebase, e.g. [1]
, but if they are not translated they break the language used on a translated page. The graphics can be found in picturebase/fundraising.

Would it be a good idea to offer translatable template files, e.g. an .xcf that translators can use in GIMP?

Is it suitable to ask this question here or is it more suitable to ask this question on the @web mail list?

Thanks for the question, very important! It's good to have this issue as a reference point, but I would propose to open a thread on web@ to discuss how we could to that and make sure that all pages actually use the translated resources.
