I think the slider's speed can be adjusted here: https://git.fsfe.org/FSFE/fsfe-website/src/branch/master/index.xsl#L113

While at it, one could also remove templates from this file which are (probably, please search/test beforehand!) not used anymore, e.g. label-ourwork2011 or campaign-box-3.
