In the Free Software community, we expect a lot of work from Free Software
project maintainers. We want that our bug reports are dealt with quickly,
demand new features, translations, updates, and much more. People can be really demanding and it can be quite exhausint for project maintainers to deal with all the ideas and demands. Sadly this often creats a hostile atmosphere and makes it hard for people to stay motivate and participate in Free Software projects. Let us change this! Let us say "Thank you" and let us show our appreciation for each other and the work we do for Free Software.
Imagine a Free Software community that is welcoming, motivating, friendly and just all in all a wonderful community. Somebody sends an email to their mailing list with new ideas about the project, and they get an answer that appreciates their thoughts and work put into the project. A Pull Request is reviewed and the reviewers adds their thanks for the work put into the Pull Request. This community really appreciates the work done for the Free Software project by simply saying "Thank you!".

It can often be quite demanding to maintain a Free Software project, especially if it becomes quite large. On the "I Love Free Software Day" we reach out to each other and say "Thank you". This helps to create a welcoming community in which not only old people feel safe to participate but also new ones. A simple "Thank you" can motivate others to keep contributing to Free Software! Let us create this lovely and welcoming Free Software community!
