<h2>Un buen soporte para experimentar</h2>

<p>A primera vista algunos dispositivos parecen un asco, ¿por qué deberíamos comprarlos entonces? Muchas personas se rieron cuando el editor de este boletín se compró su <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Openmoko#Neo_FreeRunner">Open Moko Neo Freerunner</a>. Podías encontrar dispositivos más baratos y con una CPU más rápida, más memoria RAM, más espacio en disco, más bonitos, con una mejor conexión de red, mejor micrófono o mejores altavoces.</p>
|

||||
<p>Pero dispositivos como OpenMoko son importantes para cada uno de nosotros incluso aunque no los compremos porque nos permiten experimentar con el hardware: los desarrolladores de Software Libre pueden aprender mejor cómo funcionan los dispositivos -qué hace el código- y les permite realizar mejor software que posteriormente disfrutaremos.</p>

estos dispositivos: Ben NanoNote</a>. Este dispositivo está soportado

completamente por los controladores de Software Libre de la

distribución original del núcleo Linux. No depende de ningún software

||||
propietario, ni blobs de firmware, para su instalación o

||||
funcionamiento. El "Ben" anima a la experimentación: puedes reescribir
|
||||
el controlador de arranque y el sistema operativo con imágenes propias
|
||||
y puedes instalar los programas que elijas.</p>

<h2>Restricciones perversas</h2>
|
||||
|
||||
<p>El conocimiento que obtenemos la comunidad del Software Libre con estos dispositivos nos ayuda a contrarrestar las prácticas de los fabricantes de tecnologías de la información que utilizan distintas restricciones en diferentes tecnologías para quitarnos la capacidad de control sobre los dispositivos que utilizamos. En muchos dispositivos los fabricantes deciden qué software podemos instalar o quitar, no quieren que aprendamos cómo funciona y no quieren permitirnos cambiar de software. Ellos deciden cómo debemos ver los DVDs, qué proveedores de tarjetas SIM podemos utilizar e incluso quieren tener la capacidad para borrar los datos de nuestros equipos, sobre todo en lo referente a libros, música o películas.</p>

<p>La pregunta es: ¿debemos permitirlos hacer esto? ¿Aceptamos estas restricciones? Y si no lo hacemos, ¿qué más podemos hacer para contrarrestar sus intenciones?</p>

<h2>Grupos locales</h2>
|
||||
|
||||
<p>En FSFE creemos que una parte crucial de este desafío son las reuniones locales. Tenemos que conectar a distintas personas que se oponen a estas restricciones y ayudarnos para explicar estas cuestiones al resto de la población. Como mencionamos en el <a href="/news/nl/nl-201310.html">anterior boletín</a> mantuvimos el <a href="https://blogs.fsfe.org/eal/2013/10/08/fsfes-first-european-coordinators-meeting">primer encuentro de coordinadores de grupos locales de FSFE Fellowship</a>. Después, el grupo ha publicado un resumen de los <a href="https://blogs.fsfe.org/hugo/2013/10/some-nice-tips-for-fsfe-local-meetings-organisers/">consejos para quienes quieran organizar un grupo local de FSFE</a> y Lucile Falgueyrac resumió las <a href="https://blogs.fsfe.org/lucile.falg/2013/10/14/tips-for-afk-meeting-moderation/">buenas prácticas para la moderación de los grupos</a>.</p>

<p>Además del encuentro, FSFE acogió su primera asamblea general anual en Viena. Jonas Öberg reflexionó sobre <a href="http://jonasoberg.net/post/64107423387/reflections-of-fsfe-ga-mission-impact">cómo trabajamos para alcanzar las metas que nos marcamos</a> y Hugo Roy <a href="https://blogs.fsfe.org/hugo/2013/10/2013-ga-in-vienna-day-2">escribió sobre los aspectos formales, tratados el segundo día</a>, como la reelección de Karsten Gerloff como presidente y Reinhard Müller como director financiero. U kunt een korte herinnering van het nieuws betreffende de stemming over de Auteursrichtlijn vinden evenals een korte samenvatting van wat we verder hebben gedaan gedurende de afgelopen maand. In de Word Actief-sectie van deze maand herinneren we u aan de nieuwe open oproep voor de lancering van het Next Generation Internet project waar we deel van uitmaken. Verder kunt u meer te weten komen over nieuwe evenementen die we bezoeken en de Web-a-thon die we in Frankfurt am Main organiseren.</p>
