<p>De nieuwsbrief van deze maand licht de Google/Huawei-zaak en het bredere beeld dat dit aan ons openbaart uit. In de word Actief-sectie roepen we u op proactief het gebruik van Vrije Software te promoten. U kunt erachter komen wat er gebeurde op onze Web-a-thon in Frankfurt am Main en enkele media bekijken over onze acties voor het promoten en verbeteren van het bewustzijn van Vrije Software onder een breder publiek. En u kunt lezen wat we gepland hebben voor de nabije toekomst, waar u deel van kunt uitmaken.</p>

<h2 id="the-google-huawei-lessons">De lessen uit Google versus Huawei</h2>
|
||||
<p>Vorige maand zette Google Huawei op de zwarte lijst en blokkeerde haar toegang tot al haar propriëtaire componenten van het Android mobiele besturingssysteem. De in Californië gebaseerde technologiegigant moest tegemoetkomen aan de beslissing van de Amerikaanse regering die in de praktijk alle Amerikaanse bedrijven verbied om te handelen met Huawei. Hoewel de Chinese telecomgigant niet langer toegang heeft tot Google's propriëtaire componenten zal het niettemin in staat zijn om Androids besturingssysteem te gebruiken omdat het beschikbaar is onder een open bron-licentie zodat iedereen er vrijelijk gebruik van kan maken. Dit licht het belang van Vrije Software voor gebruikers, overheden en bedrijven uit. De Free Software Foundation Europe presenteerde drie essentiële lessen uit deze zaak:</p>

<li> Vrije Software stelt u in staat om controle over technologie te hebben: Hoe belangrijker technologie wordt in onze dagelijkse levens, des te relevanter Vrije Software wordt voor individuele gebruikers.</li>
|
||||
|
||||
<li> De EU is te afhankelijk van buitenlandse bronnen van technologie: De EU en haar lidstaten zouden moeten investeren in ontwikkeling van Vrije Software en de aandacht moeten richten op het steunen van lokale Vrije Software-organisaties en bedrijven. Dit kan leiden tot een grotere technologische onafhankelijkheid voor de economie van de EU.</li>

<li> Vrije Software biedt bedrijven technologische onafhankelijkheid: Een bedrijf dat proprietaire software gebruikt is afhankelijk van de software-verkoper en de regering die het reguleert. De beste strategie voor een bedrijf om dit te vermijden is om zoveel mogelijk Vrije Software in hun productieketens te gebruiken. </li>

<h2 id="do-not-miss-upcoming-events-with-the-fsfe">Mis het niet: komende evenementen met de FSFE</h2>

<p>Zoals iedere maand proberen we de boodschap te verspreiden en individuen en organisaties te helpen begrijpen wat Vrije Software is en hoe het bijdraagt aan vrijheid, transparantie en zelfbeschikking. Als u interesse heeft om ons in actie te zien en deel te nemen aan onze zaak hou dan de volgende data in de komende maanden en locaties in de gaten:</p>

<li>Op 3 juli zal FSFE's programmamanager Max Mehl uitleggen hoe Vrije Software de oplossing kan zijn voor veel veiligheidsproblemen op <a href="https://2019.pass-the-salt.org/talks/102.html">Pass the Salt</a> in Lille (Frankrijk)</li>
|
||||
<li>Op 6 juli zal FSFE-supporter Reinhard Müller een presentatie houden op <a href="https://www.tuebix.org/">Tübix</a> over de ontwikkeling van web-applicaties die hij met succes gebruikte voor de ontwikkeling van het nieuwe <a href="https://my.fsfe.org/">online FSFE gemeenschapsportaal</a> in Tübingen (Duitsland)</li>
|
||||
<li>Op 8 juli zal de FSFE-gemeenschap in Bonn <a href="https://wiki.fsfe.org/LocalGroups/Bonn">bijeenkomen</a> om in discussie te gaan over Vrije Software.</li>
|
||||
<li>Op 22 juli zullen de FSFE-gemeenschap in Franken en Hackerspace Neurenberg in Neurenberg (Duitsland) <a href="https://wiki.fsfe.org/LocalGroups/Franken/DigitalFestival2019">een spreker te gast hebben die een lezing houdt</a> over de basis en meestvoorkomende misverstanden over Vrije Software</li>
|
||||
<li>Tussen 21 en 25 augustus zal de FSFE een <a href="https://signup.c3assemblies.de/assembly/db340abb-1f28-48e0-bbd6-59035e98cb42">assemble</a> organiseren op het Chaos Communication Camp in Mildenberg (Duitsland). De assemble zal deel uitmaken van <a href="https://signup.c3assemblies.de/assembly/c1831305-457e-4199-9070-38e2ac9234de">about:freedom</a>, een cluster met een focus op politieke digitale (mensen)rechten, vrijheid van informatie en opkomen voor Vrije Software. Het is een ontmoeting van verschillende en verscheidene organisaties uit de hele wereld die Vrije Software promoten en digitale rechten verdedigen en versterken. Er zullen ter plaatse werkgroepen en informatiematerialen zijn. Als u naar het kamp komt, kom dan langs en heb een praatje met ons!</li>

<h2 id="what-have-we-done-inside-and-outside-the-fsfe">Wat hebben we gedaan? Binnen en buiten de FSFE</h2>
|
||||
<p>Sinds de vorige nieuwsbrief hebben we Vrije Software erg actief gepromoot door individuen en organisaties te helpen beter te begrijpen wat Vrije Software is en hen aan te moedigen om het in hun levens te ontwikkelen en te implementeren. We willen hieronder de evenementen waarvan we foto's en video's hebben met u delen:</p>

<li>Van 24 tot 26 mei organiseerde de FSFE onze <a href="https://wiki.fsfe.org/Events/2019/0525-fsfe-web-a-thon">web-a-thon 2019</a>. Er waren 13 hackers (en 's avonds meer) die elkaar ontmoetten in Frankfurt am Main om aan FSFE's website te werken en natuurlijk ook om onze aardige gemeenschap te vieren en stil te staan bij <a href="https://mastodon.social/@3rik/102155847488969972">International Towel Day</a>. We hadden hoge doelen gesteld en probeerden vele onopgeloste uitdagingen op te lossen: sommige zijn nogal klein en andere zijn belangrijk voor redacteuren, vertalers en natuurlijk onze bezoekers. In de
|
||||
mijlpaal <a href="https://git.fsfe.org/FSFE/fsfe-website/milestone/10?state=closed">"Hackathon1905"</a> hadden we de uitdagingen om aan te werken verzameld en het bleek dat we meer voor elkaar hebben gekregen dan we hadden gedacht: 47 tickets en verzoeken zijn succesvol gesloten. Met dank aan iedereen die deelnam, een goed humeur bewaarde en aan <a href="https://ccc-ffm.de/">CCC FFM</a> die ons geduldig tijdens het hele weekeinde te gast had!</li>

<li><p>Onze beleidsmanager Alexander Sander was uitgenodigd als expert over E-Government in het Parlement van de Duitse bondsstaat Saarland op 17 juni. In zijn lezing argumenteerde hij over de voordelen van Vrije Software op het gebied van E-Government. <h2 id="get-active">Word actief</h2>
|
||||
<p>Weet u nog dat enkele jaren geleden de Duitse krant Die Tageszeitung (TAZ) <a href="https://fsfe.org/news/2013/news-20130327-01.en.html">de Document Freedom Day Award ontving</a> voor het leveren van haar elektronische krant aan haar abonnees met een keuze in open formaten en zonder <a href="https://drm.info/">digitale beperkingen (DRM)</a>?
|
||||
Dit jaar ging de TAZ een stap verder en lanceerde zelfs onder een Vrije Software-licentie haar eigen <a href="https://f-droid.org/en/packages/de.thecode.android.tazreader/"> taz.app op f-droid</a>. Dit is een fantastisch voorbeeld voor andere kranten. Neem contact op met uw favoriete krant en eis dat ze het voorbeeld van TAZ volgen door gebruikers keuzevrijheid en technische controle te bieden.</p>
