the book and president of the FSFE. Matthias was fascinated by

computers and software as a child. He had an early internet

connection, through which he learned a lot. Children have the right

||||
to take their future into their own hands, and Matthias is committed
|
||||
to the goal that all humans can use software in a self-determined
|
||||
way. He also wants to build an electric skateboard with Free
|
||||
Software.</p>

<p><a href="http://sandra-brandstaetter.com/">Sandra Brandstätter</a>

||||
is the book’s illustrator. Sandra has always liked crafting with

||||
scissors, pliers, glue, wire, fabric, and paper. Today she works as

an illustrator, comics author and character designer for animated
|
||||
films and series, such as the German public television series ‘Trudes
|
||||
Tier’. If she could choose from an ice cream machine, Sandra would

||||
pick a creamy rainbow ice cream with lemon-cucumber flavour and a lot

One way to spark children's interest in coding is to read the book to them: in your family, or to your friends' or co-workers' families. It is very motivating and fulfilling to discuss the topic with children and hear about their ideas on what they want to accomplish with technology. Readings in "open spaces" have turned out to be more challenging for the

reader, and especially younger children in particular are much more easily distracted by

readings</strong>, try to create a cosy environment with as little space as possible between you and the audience. For example, making the

audience sit on the floor on pillows, with the reader in front of

Our goal is to share available resources between educators so materials

can be reused, translated, and adapted to educators' own needs. The

following materials around Ada & Zangemann are currently known to

The portal includes <a href="https://ada-zangemann.forge.apps.education.fr/ressources/pedagogique.html">teaching resources,</a> including an online comic-book creation application, <a href="https://ada-zangemann.forge.apps.education.fr/livre/en/az_en.html">an online version of the book in different languages</a>, the movie and audiobooks in different languages, <a href="https://ada-zangemann.forge.apps.education.fr/livre/az-diaporama.html">slides for reading at school</a>, a <a href="https://ada-zangemann.forge.apps.education.fr/jeu/">board game</a>, <a href="https://ada-zangemann.forge.apps.education.fr/ressources/telechargement.html">multilingual PDFs of the book</a>, and more.</li>

<li>The Austrian Ministry of Education <a href="https://www.eduvidual.at/course/view.php?id=218862">created an online course</a> which includes interactive activities, discussion guides, and traditional exercises. It presents complex topics such as monopolies, lobbying, the digital divide, software freedom, digital autonomy, the Internet of Things (IoT), and electronic waste in a child-friendly way as part of an engaging storyline.</li>

<li>One teacher started asking their pupils to write letters to Zangemann. We have published some of <a href="/activities/ada-zangemann/letters.html">the letters to Zangemann for which we have permission</a>. If you do similar exercises, we would love to hear from you, and we will ensure Zangemann gets the letters.</li>
